KCAD: Sustainable Culture
KCAD: Sustainable Culture is all about empowering students to use their work to impact change in our community and globe. The Fall 2017 Sustainability and Design class did this through peer reviews of the work seen around our campus, and used this as an opportunity to support our fellow students. Their goal was to help create a stronger community at KCAD while also cultivating a stronger future for the ones that will follow.

Fix It Labs
The Fall 2016 Sustainability and Design class explored different ways to take, make, and repair through the Fix It Labs, an open gallery space that held small, student led workshops to learn about how to fix and maintain common objects such as bikes, electronic screens, and furniture.

Re•Fill: Emergency ReSource Room
The Fall 2016 Sustainability and Design class took on the project of restocking and promoting Kendall’s student food pantry, the Emergency ReSource Room, as an institutional project. While the food pantry was already an established area and resource, the food supplies were low and it was not being properly utilized and promoted.

KCAD + Goodwill Pop-Up Shop
Organized as part of the collaboration between KCAD students in Collaborative Design classes and Goodwill for ArtPrize Eight, a “pop-up shop” of handmade goods was open ArtPrize visitors to shop for three days in the fall of 2016.
